H.Fournet & Schneider
A wonderful French art deco lamp in wrought iron. The forged base holds a rare model Schneider shade in frosted glass blown in a mold. It is signed Schneider with the signature used around 1926-1930. The lamp was made by "Le Ferre Forgé" the company of H. Fournet that produced high quality wrought iron and bronze lighting fixtures during the interbellum in the city of Lyon France. A version of this model base first appears in the Fournet product catalogs in 1925 (page 4) and was in production till at least 1928.
The lamp is 35,5 cm high and the Schneider shade has a diameter of 12,9 cm. The lamp is in excellent condition. The forged base has a nice deep-brown patina and subtle egg gloss. The lamp is rewired with new cotton covered twisted cord new plug and switch. For the USA Canada or Japan it is wired with an American candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug. For European countries I will place a E14 socket.
