General Information:

Item: Pocket Watch Movement.

The movement is marked: 

T.W. Benson 62*64 Ludgate Hill. London. Swiss Made, #1697071.

By Warrant to H. M. The Late Queen Victoria the Queen.


The watch was produced in this period: 1905‑1920.

  • The phrase “By Warrant to H.M. The Late Queen Victoria” means the watch must post‑date the death of Queen Victoria (1901) — or at least be styled after that wording; some earlier ones show “Her Majesty Queen Victoria” during her reign.


  • Royal Warrant: It’s a mark showing that the company (J.W. Benson) was officially recognized as a supplier to the British royal family.


    • Measurements:

    Diameter of the Movement: 29.56 mm.


    Condition:

    The enamel original dial is in good condition. There are only 2 slight chips on the edge at 5:20 and at 1:20 o'clock. 

    The balance wheel does not move. But the balance axle looks intact. 

    This vintage watch movement is not running and is being sold as-is for repair or parts. 

    The mechanism looks clean and neat, but the service history is unknown. 

     

    We do not service, clean, or repair vintage watch movements. 

    All my items require servicing by a watchmaker.
