Cradled within a refined, museum-style display, this fragile fragment of a Civil War flag carries the silent weight of a nation once torn in two. Its worn fibers once snapped in the smoke and thunder of battle, borne by hands that believed the banner stood for unity, sacrifice, and an uncertain future. To own such a relic is not a possession in the ordinary sense, but stewardship, a rare privilege to safeguard a surviving witness to America’s most defining conflict, and to honor the lives forever bound to its faded threads.
Your flag remnant comes from Francis Bannerman, who was the founder of Francis Bannerman & Sons, the largest military surplus firm in the world during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Following the American Civil War, the U.S. government sold off the remaining surplus military material—including weapons, uniforms, and worn or damaged flags—which Bannerman purchased. He would go on to sell them to museums, collectors, governments, and institutions worldwide.
Comes beautifully displayed with full color graphics in a 6” museum style, glass window Ryker display. Your flag remnant is encapsulated to preserve and keep it safe.
