This is a **Japanese Natural Finishing Whetstone (J-Nat)** from **Kyoto Prefecture** (mine unknown). It is a refurbished older stone that has been **lapped (surface leveled)** by the seller. It is described as a **Hard** stone with a **firm sharpening feel**, suitable for **final honing**. It is capable of achieving a **semi-mirror finish** on stainless steel like Gingami No. 3 (Gin-san) steel. The sides are **sealed with Kashew resin** to prevent further cracking or chipping.

• Shows scratches, dirt, and wear typical of an older natural stone.
• The stone has **chips and layer fissures (割れ)**, but the seller states these do not interfere with the sharpening process.
• The thickness varies across the stone (24mm to 29mm), requiring the use of shims or a flexible stone holder for stability.
• **Note**: As a natural stone, there is a risk of undiscovered **veins (suji)** causing scratches.
