Hard alloy is an alloy material made by powder metallurgy process, mainly composed of refractory metal carbides (such as tungsten carbide and titanium carbide), with metal powders (such as cobalt and nickel) added as binders. Hard alloys are known as "industrial teeth" due to their high hardness, wear resistance, strength, and excellent heat and corrosion resistance.
Ingredients and manufacturing process
The main components of hard alloys include refractory carbides such as tungsten carbide (WC), titanium carbide (TiC), tantalum carbide (TaC), or niobium carbide (NbC), as well as metal powders such as cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) as binders. The manufacturing process mainly uses powder metallurgy to mix, powder, ball mill, press, and low-pressure sinter these refractory carbides and binder metals.
