I am selling a Visconti Homo Sapiens Limited Edition Bronze Travel Edition oversize fountain pen. One of a limited series of 300 such pens for the world market. Made of lava, with bronze metal appointments. Power filler, with the solid bronze end cap being the plunger knob. Push and turn cap closure. Visconti's proprietary/in-house large 18kt gold (rose-gold-plated) Medium nib adorns this beauty. (The last photo shows the Medium and Fine nibs... only one will be fitted and sent.) Mint, boxed, with papers, and accompanied by special traveling inkpot and eye dropper. Approximate dimensions... length closed 14.5cm, length open 13.3cm, width at widest point on cap (excluding the clip) 1.7cm, and weight empty is 50g. This pen was produced by Visconti as part of the enlarged Homo Sapiens range. It is characterized by the beautiful solid carbon fibre cap and barrel, complemented by bronze metal bands, rings, and clip. Note that the bronze metal will tarnish, and can be cleaned/polished with a suitable cloth.

Please note that the exact lava texture on the pen to be shipped will differ from that in the photos, though the variations in the distribution of natural lava spots and blemishes are generally subtle, and inconsequential for practical purposes. An important note regarding Visconti’s 23kt palladium large Dreamtouch nib.

The Visconti 23kt palladium large Dreamtouch nib can be a joy to write with, provided it has been tuned properly. Unfortunately factory settings are not optimal for some fountain pens that are new "out of the box", and occasionally tuning is required.

After purchase and before sending each Visconti fountain pen fitted with a large Dreamtouch 23kt palladium nib, I will remove the nib unit, put it in my tester pen, and check (and adjust as necessary) to ensure it writes correctly. Then I will wash the nib unit through, clean it and put it back inside the purchased pen. In this way I can be sure the pen will write correctly.

Some minor droplets or ink/water residue may become apparent around the nib or inside the barrel when the pen is received, as a result of air pressure changes during courier air transport. I will warrant the performance of the nib unit as a consequence of the aforementioned procedure.

If the buyer prefers this procedure not be undertaken, a message to that effect should be left with the order. However, in such circumstances the writing performance shall not be warranted, and I will not accept returns on account of the writing performance of the nib.

Combined Shipping Discount

I offer a combined shipping discount for multiple listed items, but only in circumstances whereby the multiple items are being purchased on one and same invoice/transaction showing the reduced/adjusted combined shipping rate. This requires the buyer to request a total for multiple purchases prior to payment, or to defer payment after the multiple item purchase commitments are made, prior to payment, so that I can make the necessary adjustment to the invoice and submit it to the buyer for payment.

I do not offer combined shipping discounts for items purchased separately, and/or outside the procedure outlined above.

The reason for this policy relates to the fact that eBay as a matter of course does not automatically retrospectively refund seller fees/commission expenses for retrospective shipping expense adjustments on separately purchased/paid-for items, leaving the seller with the administrative burden and related expense of claiming rebates at a later date via a cumbersome procedure.

Shipping and other delays may occur

While we will make every endeavour to dispatch this item in a timely fashion, delays with couriers/postal agencies, as well as import authorities (eg. Customs) in the buyer’s country, can occur and these delays can be up to weeks, if not months (as may be experienced with recent world-wide events). In buying this item, the Buyer is acknowledging that such delays may occur, and are out of the Seller’s control, and the Seller is not responsible for them.

An important note regarding the nib and writing performance of this fountain pen

A fountain pen nib can be a joy to write with, provided it has been tuned properly. Unfortunately factory settings are not optimal for some fountain pens that are new "out of the box", and occasionally tuning is required. Your pen, once purchased, will be checked by us prior to sending. It may need some tuning.

After purchase and before sending each fountain pen, whether a gold, palladium, steel or other metal nib, I will test the nib unit with ink, and check (and adjust as necessary) to ensure it writes correctly. Then I will wash the nib unit and dry it. In this way I can be sure the pen will write correctly........ BUT sometimes there some residual water/ink will find its way down the feeder during courier air travel.
