I am a class 2 BGA certified technician who has been repairing video cards since 2021
These
48gb 4090 variants spawned in china by the constriction of export
controls of Nvidia enterprise hardware to the SE asia region.
China
is restricted to use only the lower power AD102-250 D variant in
mainland china. Some buyers of 4090's here in the USA circumvent export
control and send full power 4090's to china to be upgraded for their
farms. Due to this, if you are lucky enough to source a NON-D variant of
the 48gb 4090 from china, it will cost much more.
I use my skills in the USA to source 4090's from second hand markets which have full power AD102-300/1 core variants and the latest GEN 3 48gb 4090 PCB's (with better power/cooling configuration)
Im
based out of Michigan USA and offer support, warranty, and repairs. Due
to the fact that the 4090's product cycle being discontinued, im
working on used/short supply of 4090's for this modification. As such, I
can only offer a 90 day warranty, with 1 year option as an add on.
You can find more information on the card here: https://gpvlab.com/rtx-info.html
Video of the new generation 3 PCB (jan 2026) is available: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBh69aixouE
--------------------------
These cards work out of the box, plug and play, with nvidia drivers on linux and windows with no configuration needed.
Memory performance is not effected from the stock 4090 You can expect a stable 900 GB/s (+/- 6%) memory bandwidth.
TDP: 450W
Connector: 12VHPWR
PCIE 4.0 x16
Displays:
3x DP 1.4
1x HDMI 2.1
Size:
Exact same size as an A100/A6000 gpu, meant to be stacked for high
density configurations 2-8 GPU's per system. Excellent for server
chassis.
THESE ARE LOUD! They
are blower configuration cards, while they do not whine like 1u
servers, they WHIRRR pretty loud and noticeably if you are in the same
room and run any kind of load on them. This is a server cabinet/other
room type of card, not for offices/bedrooms.

Rework process:
During
every step of the process high quality Stirri soldering flux is used
specific to this type of BGA rework. Afterwards, a sonic cleaning
process with an american made Crest ultra sonic cleaner is used to give
these cards a fab level finish to ensure no surface resistive dielectrics are left under the BGA to cause signaling issues (the ram bus runs at 10GHz!)
Testing and validation:
Each
card is run through a thorough validation procedure which includes
pytorch and various LLM/diffusion workloads, GPU Burn, Furmark and
vulkam memtest. Each card is tested and a validation receipt is printed
and included with each card post-sale.
Shipping:
Cards
comes with port protectors installed, and are sealed in a dri-shield
Mylar ESD bag, and packaged in a ESD safe foam mailer. The cards are
double boxed with bubblewrap in between each box.
