This lighter will NOT convert a standard 12V accessory outlet into a functional cigarette lighter. Many newer vehicles—including Harley-Davidson models—no longer use true cigarette lighter receptacles and instead feature 12V power outlets. These two types of ports are not the same, and the internal contact points differ.

If your bike or vehicle did not originally include a cigarette lighter, then it does not have a cigarette lighter receptacle—only a 12V power port. In that case, this lighter will NOT work.
