This highly regarded dual-conversion superheterodyne transceiver was the top-of-the-line offering in its day, boasting superior selectivity, an illuminated S-meter, automatic noise limiter, variable squelch, and a low-noise front end that easily outperformed most entry-level CBs of the era.
Originally sold as a build-it-yourself kit for $79.95 (a premium price at the time), the C-27 featured crystal-controlled transmit with provision for up to five plug-in crystals, 5-watt input power, pi-network antenna matching, and a beautifully engineered chassis using printed circuit boards and high-quality tube circuitry.
This particular unit is being offered strictly as-is for parts or restoration. It is complete as shown in the photographs — cabinet, front panel, S-meter, knobs, internal speaker, and main chassis are all present. The XTAL switch is missing. The original ceramic press-to-talk microphone is not included, but crystals are installed. The unit is untested and should be considered a non-working example ideal for the collector, restorer, or parts hunter seeking authentic Knight-Kit components (tubes, transformers, meters, channel selector, etc.).
