This sale is for 3 PAIR of premium, 16mm TOHICKON GLASS EYES for FRESHWATER FISH. I believe they’re intended for BROOK TROUT but could probably be used generically or for other fish with like pupils and similar coloring. They are beautifully represented and rendered to meet a high standard. Perfect for use in taxidermy-wildlife mountings, sculpture, special effects, displays, artworks, jewelry, etc. but could be applied for any use where a fine product is desired.

Although they are unused, new old stock and have not been clearly identified by the factory as seconds, my own inspection has determined that I cannot present them as NEW, RETAIL GRADE EYES, and must offer them as imperfect seconds (#2). This may be due to issues missed by quality control, post production mis-handling or they were just never labeled as such. Common issues may be generally minor and barely noticeable, such as tiny nicks or paint flecks, material defects, minute abrasions-scuffs, etc. A few may have more obvious issues that will be noted if observed. Inconsistencies in coloring, artistry, pupil size, symmetry etc. could also be a factor
Despite any infractions that might be encountered, these eyes are still better quality, more accurate and more realistic than most any other commercial eyes you might find.
These eyes are unused, New Old Stock, sealed on the card by the maker. This loose card was picked from a bag with other various fish eyes. They were not marked or identified, but I have noted what I believe to be the species and factory style/model on the back: “137 C-Brite16mm BROOK TROUT #2” as identified by a Tohickon press release flyer, a Tohickon catalog, and to the best of my knowledge. As per factory procedure the “#2” indicates they are seconds.
As indicated above, I believe these are the 137 C-Brite style eyes which were still in the later stages of development. Similar to the popular 135 series fish eyes, these feature more realistic, enhanced details and a redesigned, lens profile for an even more life-like fish eye. And quite rare too as I don’t think they ever made it to the broad market.
The C-Brites are not hand painted, They are however, meticulously rendered in baked-on colors and metallics. The issue causing me to rate them as seconds is that the black of the pupils in this batch did not adhere properly to the crystal causing a shiny, reflective glare, most prominent when viewed from sharper angles.
They are otherwise unused, sealed and in EXCELLENT LIKE NEW condition. They measure about 16 mm long by about 14 mm wide, and about 8 mm at their peak.
• For photo purposes, I removed one eye from the sealed card.
• Occasionally, no positive reference can be found, or I’m not 100% sure an eye has been
correctly identified. In those cases, identification of the species and/or style # (factory
classification) are determined to the best of my resources and knowledge (or not at all) and any
such information cannot be guaranteed.

Tohickon Glass Eyes
Was established in the 1970s and were among the finest commercial glass eyes on the market. Unfortunately, production ceased at the end of 2022 and they are no longer being made.
