For sale is an awesome 1970's version of the JOP football helmet facemask.  This mask is a red dot version, meaning that it is a slightly smaller sized mask, usually for shells sized around 7 1/4 and smaller. (If you are wondering why the code on this mask isn't JOP-SW, it's because the two wire masks weren't introduced until 1980, so there was no need to distinguish single wire, because they were all single wire!) 

This mask is a reproduction facemask. The very long and painstaking process was made to make sure this mask is exact to what the originals were.  It was then dipped in very thick, white, liquid (PVC) coating.  So it has the same feel that the old coatings from the 70's have. This mask is awesome!!!  Please keep in mind that liquid stuff is awful to work with!  Super unpredictable!  Lines, sags, stuff you would find on old Schutt masks, are on these too.  With these old masks, you do not want to use the current powder coatings, they do not perform or look the same...they are way too neat and clean looking!  

Please notice that even the red dot is placed correctly on the mask, in the exact color that Schutt used 35 years ago.  Something you will only find here...  

In going through this process, I have thought long and hard about where my pricing needs to be on these masks.  Please understand that this was not a cheap endeavor.  This asking price is as low as I can get it so the effort would be compensatory in some form.  I have tried to find a price that is conducive so more collectors can get their hands on this elusive mask.  I hope I have succeeded.
