This is a pair - front and back - of molas that used a Winchester Super X shotgun shell box and logo for inspiration. (Evidently the Guna men hunt.) I suspect the maker was illiterate; the brand name is spelled WINCISTER, miscopied. These molas are a riot of color with many layers of appliqués and reverse appliqués, resulting in not a bit of their busy designs undecorated. Besides the elaborate quilting there is a lot of fine embroidery used to make tiny "dashes" against solid colored shapes. These molas' creation was ambitious. The work on them stands head and shoulders above many other molas; the care taken and precise sewing are extraordinary. They measure 15" x 16.5", almost a rare square format. I do not sell or ship internationally.
