DIAMOND LIKE CARBON (DLC):

DLC is a hard, graphite-like, carbon-based coating with exceptional tribological properties under high loading conditions. Simply put, the finish is engineered for performance. The relatively new coating is currently used in fuel injection systems, but also has a number of other promising applications ranging from automotive to medical, down to high-end timepieces (the Space Black Apple watch uses the coating), and now golf equipment.

Recent durability testing has found Hot DLC to be significantly better than anything currently available.

DESIGN NOTES:

Redesigned with a new look from address and a refined, thinned out mid-section, this evolution of the Phantom X 12—the line’s high-MOI champion—was updated for even more forgiveness, easier alignment and confidence-inspiring performance. Stability-enhancing weight is maintained in the 12’s swept-back stainless steel wings, while this mallet’s aesthetics and sonic properties were updated with a re-designed precision milled 6061 aluminum face/core to deliver the ultimate in perimeter weighting.

An elongated face-to-flange sight line in black guides the way, as the squared-up flange and sole design make alignment effortless and give the new 12 the appearance of a “longer” look. With a anti-glare texture, the anodized 6061 aluminum and 303 stainless components exhibit timeless craftsmanship in a modern configuration. Customizable stainless steel sole weights dial in the optimal putter length-to-weight ratio for a design that is among the most advanced face balanced high-MOI mallets to date.
