Edwardian sterling silver openwork bonbon basket. Heart-shaped pierced body with a serpentine edge and ornate pierced geometric design. Embossed all over with scrolls, bows and flowerheads in typical Art Nouveau style of the period.

Beautiful little trinket dish that would be a great vide poche for storing jewellery on a dressing table, or perhaps be used as a snack bowl to serve sweets at teatime.

Made by A & J Zimmerman (Arthur & John Zimmerman) and fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1903.
