Illuminated relief globe made by Scan-Globe A/S, Denmark. The cartography dates from 1972 and this example was produced around 1980. It features a 30 cm diameter sphere with topographical detail, printed in Germany, and mounted on a clear acrylic base with metal meridian.
The globe lights internally via a working in-line switch on the cable. Political boundaries reflect the period, including the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
The globe stands approximately 45 cm tall and about 35 cm wide. The illumination works correctly, and the surface shows age-consistent signs but no significant damage. UK three-pin plug fitted.
A good example of a late Cold War educational illuminated globe, suitable for display or study. Wine bottle can and apple not included just for scale.
