AMAZING piece of Early American Pressed Glass EAPG! This "bearded man" pitcher was made by La Belle Glass in the United States of America. The spout is in the shape of a man's face and is finished in frosted glass. It reminds me of the "Green Man" from the UK. This clear glass pitcher stands on base of three frosted glass legs. The handle is also frosted, but the body of the pitcher is clear.
There is a fully encased suspended bubble in the body of the pitcher. There is also an inclusion in the glass on the right side of the handle which you can feel slightly on the surface. I've taken photos of these two imperfections that are original to the time of manufacture. There are minor signs of use but it is really in excellent antique condition.
The pitcher is over 8.25 inches tall at the spout, 8 inches tall at the handle, 8.25 inches wide including spout and handle, and 5 inches across the mouth. It weighs a hefty 2 lb 15 oz (almost 3 pounds!).
