Large antique french religious medal ( ref M ), from 19THc, signed Ludovic Penin sculptor and medalist, made of bronze with a silver patina, adorned with the Virgin Mary on the obverse, inscription in border in latin for " I choose you for my queen, my patron and my advocate ". 
On the reverse side there is a sword and letter S P for Saint Paul: The sword is the symbol of the Word of God, this Word which is sharp as a sword. The Bible quotes this image several times. Saint Paul himself says in the letter to the Ephesians (6,17): " Receive at last(...) the sword of the Spirit, that is to say the Word of God " like a sword, the Word of God penetrate very deeply into the heart of those who are touched by its message. Inscription in border in french for " Congregation of the children of Mary, St Paul Beaucaire parish ". 

         
           Condition: It is in a very nice antique condition, see photos below.
