1967 Gibson LG-0 in all original condition, barely played in almost 60 years. All solid mahogany, ladder braced. Serial number starts in either 86 or 88 which makes it 1967, the year that the guitar was purchased by the current owner in the US.
Original tuners, nut, pickguard, bridge and case. Minor dinks and dents all over appropriate to the age of the guitar. Finish is crazed all over. Original plastic bridge is deformed and lifting but solid. One bridge pin needs replacing. Cellulose pickguard is slightly warped. One tuner screw has been replaced, and one tuner ferrule is missing.
No loose braces or structural damage, some braces have been reglued with hide glue.
In the last 10 years the owner had the neck reset in order to be able to play the guitar, but never did. The new neck angle is good. The body around the neck joint was sanded and refinished in nitrocellulose, blended with the original laquer and letting the beautiful mahogany body peek through.
The guitar had been in a case untouched for several years and 4 out of 6 strings were perfectly in tune with each other.
This guitar wants to be played, loved and used, she has a lovely warm tone but bright, even with old strings, and plays nicely all the way up the neck. The neck is straight, with no warps or twists. During the neck reset the fingerboard extension was removed and reshaped, which has been done sensitivley, and you would not notice if you were not looking for it.
Original case has some damage and deformation, the compartment lid is detached but present, and some of the staples holding the compartment sides in place have pulled through the sides. Original stickers and tags from when the guitar was brought back to the UK by the owner. String height at 12th fret is 3.1mm to 2.6mm low to top E. Nut is 40mm width.
