October 2020: eBay’s new rules for cover plate and outlet plate listings with variations (aka switch plates or wall plates) do not allow me to list these classic vintage plates the way I have previously, with specific details as to condition and imperfections. So, I have completely relisted my stock for this Classic Ribbed design.
Since these cover plates are vintage, 'perfect' plates become very rare, so I also sell plates with appearance issues/defects. But, if you’re willing to use plates with appearance issues, the new catch-all category in this updated listing is now labeled “Issues”. Issues can include a variety of defects with the exclusion of a cracked screw hole which which is a separate variation since this is so common. When my “Issues” stock dwindles and what is left are the less desirable items, the issues require explanation, i.e. the defects are more noticeable. In these cases, I will communicate with you after your purchase with details and give you the opportunity to cancel the sale.
NOTE ABOUT ‘DESPARD’ SWITCH PLATE: Despard switch plates, also known as interchangeable (IC) or stacked switch plates offer flexibility in tight spaces by allowing for up to three switches in a single gang location. Popular in older homes, these plates can be used to cover small Despard sideways toggle switches, outlets and pilot lights.

I always paint my cover plates, which makes it easy to disguise appearance issues. See further down in this item description for tips on painting your cover plates.
As I come across additional vintage cover plates, dwindled supplies might have been replenished. So if you're looking for ones I ran out of or didn't have before, please look again!

CONDITION: Condition information is generic.
Appearance Issues (renamed Issues): Unless stated as "No Remarkable Issues" this usually means there may be one or more of the following: a crack at the screw hole or other opening (this may or may not be visible from the front but most often is, it can be hairline or some material may have chipped out at or near the opening); chipping around the periphery of the plate; surface scratching or dullness.
Plates labeled "No Remarkable Issues" will range from any number of the following:
Pristine
Very Good
Good
Minor Issues such as:
Surface imperfection in the manufacture
Paint residue - usually easily removed
Surface finish ranging from shiny to slightly dull
Light surface scratches or slight roughness around the edge of the plate
Many times imperfections can be camouflaged with spackle and paint, or in the case of roughness around the edge of the plate - light sanding.
If you are painting your cover plates, which I recommend, it should include a primer that adheres to plastic. Imperfections like cracks can be filled in with spackle.
Be sure to give the paint time to cure so it adheres well to the surface, then the painted surface should be fairly durable. Use satin or eggshell finish which is favorable to light cleaning for cover plates that get a lot of use.

The shipping package size and weight provided is for one plate only. If you buy multiple plates, I will combine shipping (and refund you if you have overpaid) but realize this will weigh more and require a larger package, so it is understandable that your shipping may amount to more than the minimum example.
On ‘expensive to ship’ items, always happy to investigate a more economic option. Just ask! This item is located in a rural area; mailing is typically done once a week. Please note shipping method - as this can greatly affect delivery time, i.e. Economy & Media Mail likely take much longer. Weather & holidays can also affect delivery. If your purchase is to go FedEx, fyi: it must be shipped the same day the postage is purchased. Again, we are located in a rural area and that may affect shipping. However, we have an excellent track record for timely shipping.
Also: I am absolutely willing to ship using a more economical method for my buyers. So, please feel free to make a suggestion.
