DIAMOND LIKE CARBON (DLC):

DLC is a hard, graphite-like, carbon-based coating with exceptional tribological properties under high loading conditions. Simply put, the finish is engineered for performance. The relatively new coating is currently used in fuel injection systems, but also has a number of other promising applications ranging from automotive to medical, down to high-end timepieces (the Space Black Apple watch), and now golf equipment.

Recent durability testing has found Hot DLC to be significantly better than anything currently available.

Developed by working with the game’s top players, Scotty’s limited release Champions Choice Newport 1.5 Plus Button Back features a unique I-beam style jet neck that offers a hint of toe flow for players favoring a naturally arced putting stroke. Based on the Newport Plus head shape, the Newport 1.5 Plus also includes Scotty’s legendary Teryllium inlay fused to the 303 stainless steel putter head with vibration dampening technology and a three-button-head-screw configuration to preserve and enhance the feel of this unique alloy inlay.

Designed slightly wider than a standard Newport, the wider profile is achieved via the engineered 6061 aircraft grade aluminum sole plate precision milled to allow for a larger putter flange at the ideal weight, in proper balance and with increased MOI.

In a misted Xtreme Dark finish with a black color scheme expressed in the champion-themed graphics, Scotty’s Button Back Plus model delivers a rare blade design and style with the sought-after performance and feel of Teryllium.
