Photo Back

Thank you for visiting my store! Each photo you see here is an authentic vintage press photograph — a one-of-a-kind piece of history that once lived in a newspaper archive, tucked away in drawers, folders, and boxes for decades.
These photos have a story to tell, and with that history comes natural signs of age. You might notice gentle creases, light wrinkles, or even small tears — the very marks that prove it’s an original artifact, not a modern copy.
The images in my listings are high-resolution scans of the exact photo you’ll receive — never stock images — so you can examine every detail before purchasing.
Your photograph will be carefully packaged for safe delivery and is sold as a collectible item only, with no transfer of copyright.
Bring home a piece of the past and make it part of your own story.
Q: Can I download a digital version instead?
A: Sorry, I only sell original vintage photographs. I do not make or distribute any copies, including digital ones.
Q: Do you combine shipping and invoices?
A: Yes! Multiple photos purchased under the same seller ID will automatically combine at checkout. If you run into any issues, send me a message through eBay and I’ll send you a combined invoice.
Please note: Due to eBay’s system, I can’t combine shipping for purchases made from my other seller IDs — each store requires its own tracking number, and eBay won’t accept the same tracking number twice.
Q: How quickly do you ship once payment is made?
A: I ship within one business day of cleared payment.
Q: How do you make sure my photo arrives safely?
A: Each order is packaged between two layers of cross-corrugated cardboard for maximum bend resistance, then placed in a moisture-resistant plastic envelope for extra protection.
Q: Will the “Vintage Image Photos” watermark be on my photo?
A: No — the watermark is only added to online images to prevent theft. Your actual photo will not have it.
Q: What are your office hours?
A: I work Monday–Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM (CST). I don’t respond to messages on weekends or the following holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Q: Where do your vintage photos come from?
A: My photographs come from newspaper and news service archives across the U.S., including Boston, Detroit, Tampa, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Portland, Spokane, and Miami. Every photo is an original vintage piece — I do not make or sell reproductions.
Q: Can I use this photo in my book, blog, or website?
A: This vintage photograph is sold as a collectible item only and does not include transfer of copyright.
Some, but not all, of my photos may now be in the public domain. Examples of works generally in the public domain include:
-
Works published in the U.S. before 1925
-
Works published 1925–1963 with a copyright notice but without renewal
-
Works published 1925–1977 without a copyright notice
-
Works published 1978–March 1, 1989 without a copyright notice and not registered within 5 years
Since I cannot confirm copyright status for each photo, you may wish to contact the original newspaper for permission if you plan to reproduce it.
Q: Do you relist items if I miss an auction?
A: Unsold auction items are usually relisted in my store at a fixed price — which is higher than the starting auction price.
Q: Do you leave feedback?
A: Yes! I always leave feedback for buyers. If you leave feedback for me, I’ll do the same for you.
About Us
Vintage Image Photos began in December 2010 with one scanner in a home office, digitizing old newspaper archives. Today, I can process hundreds of photos a day and bring thousands of fresh auctions to eBay each week. My inventory includes hundreds of thousands of original photographs from newspapers in Cleveland, Detroit, Boston, Denver, Seattle, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Chicago, Miami, and New Orleans — and I’m always adding more.
Satisfaction Guarantee
I want every purchase from Vintage Image Photos to be a great experience. All listing images are scans of the actual photo you’ll receive (never stock photos), so you know exactly what you’re getting. I ship with tracking, respond to all messages within one business day, and offer a 60-day return policy — the longest available on eBay.
