LOVELY piece of glass and paper art by Susan Ward, of New York, USA.  Susan Ward is an artist known for her decoupage artwork.  This particular piece is called "Letters" -- 500 were made, this is number 111.  It is a 12 inch square glass plate with a harmonious combination of paint, artwork, put together as a beautiful collage.  The graceful curve of the outside edge measures 11.5 inches across at the narrowest part.

It features the artwork of Vermeer -- known for his use of light to illuminate everyday life of the 1600's.  Also featured is a series of arches, similar to work done by DaVinci.  It includes a sheet of Asian characters.  The centerpiece of this artwork is a love letter or letter of appreciation to a poet, named Barrett (Maybe Elizabeth Barrett Browning?).

This pretty piece of art glass was purchased from the Keith Lipert Gallery in Washington, D.C.  It is in excellent pre-owned condition with no flaws.
