• Bemerkungen: Blaeus sehr dekorative Karte, deren Titel "Tartarei oder das Reich des Großen Khans" bedeutet, zeigt große Teile Zentralasiens, Sibiriens und Chinas vom Kaspischen Meer bis zum Pazifik. Die Karte wird durch eine schöne figürliche Staffage und einen Meilenzeiger ergänzt.

English description:

Blaeu's highly decorative map, whose title translates as "Tartary or the Empire of the Great Khan," depicts large parts of Central Asia, Siberia, and China from the Caspian Sea to the Pacific. The map is further enriched by a figurative decoration and a milescale. It was published by Willem Janszoon Blaeu in 1640 and measures 39 x 50 cm (platemark). This genuine copper engraving is in good condition. There is a small restored tear in the left margin.
