They were VERY HARD to get when they were released and are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER NOW!!! In July 1994, Crayola came out with a NEW Specialty Crayon line called "Magic Scents". The idea was that the Crayon released a Specific and Familiar Scent ONLY when they were colored with! The entire line was RIDDLED with Controversy! By 1995, after selling more than THREE MILLION of these Specialty Crayons, they reissued a whole new set of Colors based on the results from public concern over whether children would actually smell the Food Related Crayons and then EAT THEM!!! Though Crayola didn't have a lot of ACTUAL Cases of this happening, the perception was reality enough to prompt more focus groups to SUBSTITUTE Colors with Food Names to Colors with NON-FOOD Names!!! THIS Box is one of the FIRST ISSUED Sets of 16 Crayons with the CONTROVERSIAL FOOD NAMES!!!
