A Kerr Binns Worcester plate finely hand-painted with a hunting scene set against a bleu céleste ground, the rim richly embellished with gilt decoration. The central scene depicts two horsemen with their hounds in pursuit.
depicts two horsemen with their hounds in pursuit. The reverse bears an impressed Worcester mark together with a diamond Registration Mark. A previous owner attributed the plate to 1858, though the Registration Mark is now too faint for me decipher.
In very good antique condition, no chips or crazing, a very faint hairline of about half a centimeter to the reverse (photo 6), the gilding is excellent apart from some rubbing to the sides, which is unnoticeable in normal viewing.
Please view all the photos before purchasing, they complete the description. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. All white spots are light reflections.
