I spent months hunting down the model kits used by ILM to make the original Training Remote for A New Hope. This kit contains almost 150 individual parts and is made for the hyper fan who wants to build it the same way the original model builders did... one tiny part at a time!

The kit includes a 3D printed set of plates for the build. On the original, these were hand cut and bent styrene parts, but the printed ones are much easier to use.

It also includes the 2 hemispheres.

All of the kit parts are resin castings of the original parts, molded from the original model kits.

The base is not included.

Once assembled, the training remote can be put on a stand or just sat on a shelf.

This is a slightly advanced kit, but it could be a fun weekend project. It requires only some basic tools to put together; glue, xacto, sharpie, paint, sandpaper, drill, etc., and you’ll need to measure the hemispheres to know where to place the parts.
