The plate is 14 inches long with a thick steel back and original beechwood open handle. The handle has no chips at the horns (see photos). Brass nuts and bolts are also original, the medalion has a  distinctive makers mark. Tooth line is straight. The saw just needs sharpening and cleaning. Could be a great addition to someones collection or a workshop.

This saw is later example from 19th century by very reputable manufacturer and excellent quality. These R Groves saw considered one of the the best quality woodworking saws and have long history and reputation. Heavy with a thick steel back. Made in and marked Sheffield.
