Richly engraved domed helmet in the Indo-Persian tradition, decorated with courtly figures and scrolling foliage, topped with a spike finial and fitted with plume sockets and a hinged nasal bar. A curtain of ring mail forms the aventail, giving it superb silhouette and presence on a stand or wall. Likely early–mid 20th century, made in the Qajar/Ottoman revival style as a parade or decorative piece—wonderfully theatrical and an instant focus for a study, bar, or gallery wall.
Timeworn and characterful with old patina, small dents and marks from age; the nasal bar shows oxidation and the retaining hardware has play. Solid and display-ready.
