A Cordonato d'Oro glass lamp base produced by Barovier & Toso, a lovely globular ribbed form with a matching handle.
The lamp seems to have been designed to have no shade, but one could probably be fitted should you wish.
The cord is long, about 3 m.

Cordonato d’Oro (= golden cord) pieces are created by incorporating 24-karat gold leaf into the glass, which is then shaped with pronounced, ribbed “cords” that run vertically. This gives the glass a luxurious, textured effect with shimmering gold highlights. The design was created in the 1950s by Ercole Barovier, the chief designer at Barovier & Toso, quickly becoming one of the company’s most iconic and recognizable ranges.

In excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches. The brass-coloured fittings sit slightly loose, to there ia a little movement there. The globe will be included, but there is no certainty that it will survive the journey in working order.

Shipping: postage includes tracking worldwide. The item will first be wrapped in bubble before packing securely in a solid box with lots of peanuts – earthquake proof. We aim to ship within 1 business day of receiving cleared, please forgive the odd occasion when this extends to 2-3 days. I always combine on postage where possible.

International buyers are very welcome, but please be aware that import duties and any other fees are your responsibility. Items will be declared at the purchase price, we will not ship it as a gift.

Returns are available only if an item is not as described. Refunds will be given only on receipt of the returned item, return postage will be at your expense.
