Giuseppe Vasi (1710-1782, Corleone, Sicily).
Vasi was an Italain engraver and architect. He started to work as an engraver in the Calcografia Camerale, the main public institution of Rome. His views for the Calcografia include panoramas of the Trevoi Fountain and of the Spanish Steps. Vasi is one of the most influential engravers of the 18th century. Some of his main works are part of the collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
This is an amazing antique etching/engraving of "The Forum / View Of Rome" was created in 1765. This magnificent piece is fit for a Palace or a mansion. The elegant custom frame measures approximately 47in X 35in and the etching/engraving sheet measures approximately 41.5in X 29.5in.
