Antique Japanese Meiji Awaji Art Pottery Vase with Silver Basketweave Overlay -- in a deep red glaze with a glossy, almost glass-like finish.  It has a silver lattice pattern to the basketweave overlay.  I am not an antique expert, but my research is that it is decorated in a flower and rising sun motif.  The base mark on the bottom is a black stamp and even though not fully legible, resembles known Awaji marks such as the Sanpei flag or Danto bird.  It is approximately 8-1/4" in height; 4" in width at the widest point; and 1" across the opening of the top of the vase.  There is a very small chip near the base of the vase (the last photo shows the chip).
