For your consideration is the advertising board game, LITTLE SHOPPERS, produced in 1915 by the GIBSON GAME COMPANY of Boston, Massachusetts to advertise national brands of merchandise.  

Two versions of this game were produced, one which included BOSTON (NEVERBEND) GARTERS, and one which included VELVET GRIP HOSE SUPPORTERS.  I am offering both game pieces and both boards.  The games (boards and pieces) are otherwise the same, advertising the following 23 products:

The game is complete with both boards, all 29 playing pieces: 25 that advertise household products of the time period and 4 "little shoppers" (Father, Mother, Daughter and Son), 29 black wooden stands, instructions printed inside the box cover, and the original box.

The game did not employ dice or spinners so the playing pieces and the playing board are the only items needed to play. Moves are determined by the colors of the spaces, as indicated on each of the four corners of the board.

The boards each measure 10 inches by 14 inches when folded and 14 inches by 20 inches when opened.  The box measures 11-3/4 inches by 14-1/2 inches by 3/4-inch.

CONDITION: Complete with BOTH versions of the game board, 25 advertising pieces, 4 shoppers, 29 wooden stands, instructions printed inside the cover and the original box.  Both game boards retain their bright colors: one is very clean; the other is rubbed and soiled with some scratches and a long crease near one of the “home” spaces.   The 29 playing pieces (shoppers and products) are in good condition, clean and bright, but with wear at the bottom tabs on many of the pieces.   The 29 wooden stands are likewise in good condition but a few have cardboard remnants inside the slots.   The directions inside the box cover are fully legible.  Three corners of the box top have been repaired; one corner is split and there is one apron split.  All four corners of the box bottoms are split.  The colors of the chromolithographed cover are bold and bright, but it is gently rubbed and lightly soiled with heaviest wear at the extremities.  PLEASE MOUSE OVER THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR CONDITION DETAILS.
