Einband etwas berieben mit schmaler Fehlstelle am oberen Kapital, Ecken etwas bestoßen (Leder dort aufgeplatzt), Vorsätze etwas leimschattig, Papierschild aus dem Jahr 1819 auf vorderem Vorsatz, Papier nur minimal gebräunt und stellenweise von den Rändern ausgehend leicht stockfleckig. Gutes und insbesondere durch die bibliophile Aufmachung und die Stiche ansprechendes Exemplar. Brown leather binding of the times with gilt embossed title on black leather spine label and spine with gilt embossed floral book decoration. Early printing of the "Buffon de la Jeunesse". French language edition. With 12 engraved plates. Binding a bit rubbed, spine with small defect to the head, corners a bit bumped (leather cracked there), endpapers a bit bookbinder's glue stained, paper label on front endpaper (1819), paper only minimally darkened and partially with foxing emanating from the margins. Altogether good and due to the bibliophile appearance and the engravings still attractive copy.
