2023–2025 Silverado Sierra L5P Duramax Lower MAP Sensor Genuine OEM GM 12694431

The most common MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor issue on the L5P Duramax is clogging caused by soot buildup from the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system. When this happens, the sensor can no longer provide accurate air pressure readings, leading to a variety of drivability problems.

The MAP sensor is critical in a turbocharged engine, as it measures the air pressure inside the intake manifold to help the ECU determine the correct air-fuel ratio. A faulty or clogged MAP sensor can affect fuel injection timing, boost response, and overall performance.

Symptoms of a Bad or Clogged MAP Sensor:
- Check Engine Light: A failing sensor will often trigger fault codes.
- Rough Idle: Uneven or unstable idling.
- Hesitation or Stalling: Especially noticeable under acceleration.
- Loss of Power: Truck may feel sluggish and underpowered.
- Misfires: More noticeable under heavy load.
- Incorrect Air-Fuel Ratio: Causes rich/lean conditions.
- Poor Fuel Economy: Wasted fuel from inaccurate readings.
