Sea Marauder 18" Short Cutlass

SALE, take 50% off for manufacturer's defects. The latest shipment has multiple issues. Most frustrating is low quality of leather sheaths - they're thin, brittle leather and generally too small. All the fittings like rivets and D-ring are substandard. Some the cutlasses can be forced into and may stretch to fit over time, especially with saddle soap or similar to make it more supple. 11/12/25 added photos #s 2 to 5 so you can judge for yourself. Very disappointing that such a great product has been ruined like this.

See photos; #s 2 & 3 are how they fit straight out of the box, 3 & 4 are after I've shoved the cutlass into the sheath as tight as I can. Update, one I forced into sheath is starting to conform a little but will never be a good fit honestly. At best barely acceptable.

A short cutlass or a massive knife, the Sea Marauder would be a deadly weapon for the type of close quarters fighting on the crowded deck of a ship or narrow companionways below - size and blade geometry make it effective cutting, chopping, slashing and stabbing! Please note that while the cutlass fits either hand the sheath seems to work best with a left hand draw from the right hip, apparently designed as a secondary or offhand weapon. These come 'moderately sharp' btw, you could easily chop 'V's in a 2"x4" for instance.
