Collection grade, fluorescent, tenebrescent and phosphorescent Sodalite var Hackmanite (orange-pink in long wave, lavender-purple in short wave) with minor Phlogopite Mica (butterscotch yellow in short wave) in Dolomite (no UV reaction) matrix mineral specimen (150ct).
This Hackmanite specimen demonstrates bright orange-pink fluorescence under the long wave UV light, daylight tenebrescence (ability to change colour after illumination with the UV light), and phosphorescence. The phosphorescent afterglow is much stronger after illumination with a focused beam short wave UV light and is well visible for a few minutes in complete darkness. Watch the video for more details. Camera is not able to capture long lasting afterglow the same way human eye can.
When left in dark or indoors for prolonged duration (days to weeks) the purple colour will fade! However, it is very easy to restore the deep purple colour by exposing the specimen to UV light, meaning the colour change is reversible.
