1. Abrasive Structure
Non-Woven Belts:
Use nylon fiber webs impregnated with abrasive grains (typically aluminum oxide or silicon carbide). The open, flexible structure provides cooler cutting action and more consistent pressure distribution across irregular surfaces.
Standard Belts:
Feature solid abrasive coatings (aluminum oxide, zirconia, etc.) on cloth backing. The dense grain structure removes material faster but generates more heat.


2. Material Removal Characteristics
Non-Woven:
Gentler cutting - Ideal for final finishing without over-removal
Uniform scratch patterns (ideal for brushed metal finishes)
