The sculpture is a Vintage Cream Alabaster Sculpture of Romeo and Juliet with Horse and Dog, created by the renowned Italian sculptor Amilcare Santini

Artist: Amilcare Santini (1910-1974) was an Italian sculptor from Tuscany known for his detailed figures and classical style.

Santini sculptures, including this one, are typically made from bonded Carrara marble and alabaster resin, offering a closely resembles hand-carved marble at a fraction of the weight and cost.

This specific piece depicts a scene from William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," showcasing the iconic couple alongside a horse and dog, suggesting a narrative moment.

Legacy: A. Santini sculptures are recognized for their quality and craftsmanship, often considered museum-quality replicas of classical works. This piece is signed "A. Santini"  and has Romeo Juliet inscribed on the bottom edge of the piece (is hard to make out in pictures). There is a stamp on the bottom with Mexico. Due to unknown provenance, it could have been bought in Mexico.
