Tractor PTO Rotary Cutter Slip Clutch 1-3/8”x6-Spline both ends-USED 

  •  1-3/8" 6 Spline Shaft End: This 6-spline PTO shaft was designed with a female and male end size of 1-3/8” to provide the perfect diameter match of your implement input shaft and tractor output shaft, and has a clutch diameter of 7-3/32”
  •  Adjustment Range: This clutch has a torque rating of 900nm, and a range of 30-50 Horsepower. You can easily adjust the overall length of the tension springs to set an appropriate torque for your rotary cutter slip clutch, simply tighten or loosen the nuts to your desired range.
  • Compatible Applications: 5606006, 971-5606006, AK138125, our clutches can be used in a wide range of applications, most used on rotary tilling attachments such as rotary cutters, brush cutters, tractors and other agricultural machinery.
  • Adjustable Friction Disc: The PTO friction clutch adopts an essential spring and disc set up, assembled with friction discs inside to help transmit forces, allowing two sides of the PTO shaft to spin at different speeds.
  • Good Used Condition - Fully functional with minor signs of previous use; no impact on performance.

Installation

All maintenance, repair and installation operations must be performed with suitable safety equipment.

  1. Identify the slip clutch: Before installation, ensure that you have the right slip clutch that matches your equipment. The slip clutch should have the same dimensions, rotational speed, and number of splines as the equipment.
  2. Attach the slip clutch to the female end of the PTO shaft: Slide the female end of the slip clutch onto the male end of the PTO shaft and secure it. 
  3. Attach the male end of the PTO shaft to the equipment: Slide the male end of the PTO shaft with the slip clutch attached into the female PTO input shaft of the equipment and secure it.
  4. Adjust the slip clutch: Generally, this involves adjusting the torque setting on the slip clutch to match the torque requirements of the equipment.
  5. Test the slip clutch: Start the equipment and test the slip clutch by engaging the PTO switch. Observe the operation of the slip clutch to ensure it is functioning correctly and slipping when necessary to protect the equipment from damage.

How to shorten the PTO shaft

 

In order to shorten the tubes, follow this procedure.

 

1. Remove the protection

 

2. Shorten the transmission tubes to the required length. The telescopic tubes must overlap by at least half of their length in normal working conditions and must overlap by at least one third of their length in any working condition. Even when the transmission is not in rotation, the telescopic tubes must maintain overlap that is sufficient to prevent jamming.

 

3. Carefully deburr the ends of the tubes with a file and clean the tubes of chips

 

4. Cut protection tubes one at a time to the same length removed from the transmission tubes 

 

5. Grease the inner transmission tube and re-install the protection

 

6. Check the length of the transmission in the conditions and maximum elongation of the machine
