Antique knife sharpener butchers steel stamped Joseph Rodgers & Sons with a Star and Maltese Cross stamped .
Joseph Rodgers and Sons was a knife making firm based in Sheffield England in business by the early 18th century (1700's).Thier well known Star and Maltese trademark was originally registered by Benjamin Rich in 1682 but by 1764 the Star and Maltese Cross was associated with the name Joseph Rodgers and sons,in 1821 the firm had been appointed as cutlers to the Royal Family.
This is Antique a well known quality brand that was around for centuries,very collectable if your into style and class.The condition is still pretty good for how old it is,there are some slight knocks on the top of the handle from use as per the pictures.
