Available is a an original newspaper front page and four page sports section that came from a November 26, 1938 "Green Diamond" edition of a Chicago American newspaper. The sports dominated edition of this issue of the Chicago American newspaper contains a large bold headline with story announcing that Christian Fenger academy has won the city prep football title. The Fenger front page story is continued on page 21 of the included sports section and contains a photo of the Fenger football team. Page 19 of the sports section contains a full page of pictures from the game. His front page also contains headlines and news reporting of other major college football games. The front page of the sports section contains the William Randolph Hearst first and second All-American Football team picks. The list of picks are surrounded by first team player photos.
These newspaper pages are in good condition. However, the pages should still be treated as delicate and handled with care upon receipt. These newspaper pages originally came from a bound library volume and exhibits typical chipping and paper loss on the edges. Additional minor paper loss could occur during shipment.
