Still works when you get it going with heat or friction.  Light Fading of words Monte Carlo.  I collected pens years ago and my sisiter lived in France for 30 years, and she would bring me home pens.  She was luck to stay at this hotel and get a pen.  I never used it, just kept in my pen collection.  It is very heavy, not like plastic but not metal either.  Some sort of heavy resin.  Hard to find.   NOTE: I found the stationary and post card she sent with it from Hotel de Paris with French stamp, just to show you.  Letter, post card NOT included.  Dated 2005, so pen at least 20 years old.
