I have never seen a ratchet like this . To reverse direction you push the plug to the other side. It works smooth and the plug slides like it is supposed to but won’t come out. check out the pics to see the shape it is in. it’s a great find.

After some research I found it in a catalog and it was a brand new ratchet design in 1932
