Metales Casados, or married metals, was a difficult skill to master. A seamless transition between the different metals is required. This is a nice example of the technique that was perfected in the workshop of Los Castillo. While this is not Los Castillo, the craftsmanship on this piece is very good. This pendant is a combination of silver tone metal, copper, brass, enamel, and stone inlay work. Lapis Lazuli is inlaid on the cape. There is some wear in this area. The enamel stars and moon are in good condition. The pendant measures 4" x 1.75" with the chain measuring 22".
