Here’s an interesting piece: a cast iron graniteware cigar humidor that also doubles as a salesman’s sample for the L’islet furnace.  The company that made the furnaces was based in Quebec, Canada.  The mark on the lid says, “MARQUE DE COMMERCE / L’ISLET / POELES ET FOURNAISES / QUALITE GARANITE” and “L’ISLET” on the front of the piece.  The humidor dates to the early 1900's.  It is complete with the lid and the cover plate on the inside of the lid that is for storing a sponge.  There is also no dents or rust anywhere, and there are a few small chips on the edge of the lid, and both the top edge where the lid rests and the bottom of the humidor.  The humidor is 6 ¾ inches tall and 4 ½ inches across and is in fantastic shape with only minor chipping to the lip where the lid meets the base.  This would be great for the advertising or graniteware collector, or even great to store pencils on a desk.
