Antique Columbia Football Postcard No. 5100 – Early 1900s Labor Sports Theme
This antique postcard from the early 1900s features a unique football-shaped design, complete with laces at the top and ornate gold and blue detailing. Inside the football are three symbolic vignettes: a man with a wheelbarrow, a craftsman at work, and a circular emblem above—suggesting themes of labor, industry, and progress. The word “COLUMBIA” appears in a banner at the bottom, evoking patriotic or collegiate pride. The back is marked “No. 5100 Football Series 8 Subjects” and includes a divided layout with the classic “Place Stamp Here – Domestic One Cent – Foreign Two Cents” box, dating it to around 1907–1912. A rare and visually striking piece, ideal for collectors of early football memorabilia, labor-themed ephemera, or antique sports postcards.
