You are looking at a color magazine photo of UCLA's superstar center Lew Alcindor, autographed large and bold with a full signature by Big Lew in what is likely a thick felt pen.  This is a page out of the March 1968 Sport Magazine and was cut along the spine of the magazine with scissors, most likely by a young fan.  The magazine pic measures approximately 8" x 10.75" and the reverse shows text from the article in that issue of Sport Magazine.  Important to note, this photo does not show any creases or evidence of mailing as is sometimes found with magazine pics sent to athletes via mail - a popular practice for collecting autos at the time.

The article in Sport Magazine featured attempts at answering the question facing every other coach in college basketball who had to play UCLA - How do we stop Alcindor?  As a soph in 1967, Alcindor had led UCLA to a National Championship, and in March 1968, Alcindor's record with UCLA was 55-1 with the only blemish the Game of the Century loss to Houston and Elvin Hayes at the Astrodome.  The Bruins would avenge the loss to Houston in the 1968 Final Four and win their second of seven consecutive consecutive NCAA crowns.

The autograph has been authenticated by PSA/DNA and will arrive with their matching full page photo-style certificate of authenticity.
