For your consideration is the antique, circa 1905, card game promoting businesses in DEERFIELD, MICHIGAN. While this advertising game appears to have been made for "The Leading Merchants and Firms of Deerfield," the instructions for the games of Pleasure and Profit and Speculation were borrowed (not quite verbatim) from the games of Preadmedi and Market Cornered by A. A. Prehm of Villasca, Iowa, copyrighted in 1904. The firms represented are:
- BAKER & OSGOOD, General Hardware and Builders Supplies (CLOVER, $7.50)
- MRS. E. DANIEL, Exclusive Millinery (BARLEY, 75 cents)
- THE DEEERFIELD STATE BANK (FLAX, $1.50)
- F. E. HEMENWAY (black cards), House Furnishings, Funeral Director (RYE, $1.00)
- F. E. HEMENWAY (red cards), House Furnishings, Funeral Director (WHEAT, $1.25)
- JAMES MANNING, Drugs and Groceries (OATS, 50 cents)
- G. E. RUSLING, Fine Clothing, Furnishings, Tailoring (TIMOTHY, $2.25)
