Collection grade natural fluorescent and tenebrescent Sodalite var Hackmanite with bright orange-pink glow under the long wave UV light (283ct).
Hackmanite demonstrates both luminescence under the UV light and tenebrescence (ability to change colour after illumination with the UV light).
When left in dark or indoors for prolonged duration (days to weeks) the purple colour will fade!
However, it is very easy to restore the deep purple colour by exposing the specimen to UV light, meaning the colour change is reversible. Using UV light of different wavelengths will produce luminescence of different colours, especially comparing the short wave UV light (254nm) with the long wave UV light (365-395nm).
