RARE 1960-70s vintage Corning Ware A-8-B Spice of Life L'Echalote 8" casserole with glass lid.
The casserole has an impressed identification stamp on the bottom, which reads —
A-8-B
8 x 8 x 1-3/4
Corning Ware
for range & microwave
USA
This indicates that this was most likely manufactured between 1969 and 1972. (Later production runs had raised or printed identification stamps under the handles.)
Glass lid has "Pyrex A-9-C" raised identification mark on one edge. On the opposite edge is "47". The knob is 1-7/8" in diameter.
In very good used vintage condition. A few minor scratches on inside bottom. Some shelf wear on outside bottom from decades of storage. Glass lid has some scratches due to separate storage. No chips, cracks or crazing. From a smoke-free and pet-free home.
